True Worship of the New Covenant.

November 7, 2009

John 4: 23,
“But {the} hour is coming and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and truth; for also the Father seeks such as His worshippers”

Lets breakdown this Verse; “But the hour is coming” what does that mean, First of all when somebody says something is coming it means that particular thing is not yet come but it is still coming, that means this hour was not yet come and Jesus continues to say “and now is” some people might think that Jesus was contradicting things here because He said before it is coming and He continues to say that and now is. The answer is that Jesus was talking of the worship of the new covenant which was going to come about because of the Death of Jesus, that means the hour when Jesus was going to be Crucified and establish the new covenant was still coming, and the fact that Jesus included “and now is” it was the fact that His death was at hand or very close.
Jesus continued to say “when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and truth” that means these true worshippers were going to be revealed after the death of Christ when they were expected to worship the father in spirit and truth because new covenant is all about the government of the Holy Spirit over our lives in everything not in some things. How Holy Spirit governs us? By putting our faith in the power of God (Christ Crucified) or the Finished work of Christ.
Here in this verse these true worshippers shall worship the father in spirit and truth, not with their might, power, abilities, but the Spirit of God should be the one who is controlling them to worship.

2 Sam 6:14
“And David danced before the LORD with all his might”

Here in this verse the Bible says “David danced before the Lord”, we should underline before the Lord not in the Lord. The reason why David danced before the Lord, because of the fact that he knew nothing about the Holy Spirit, so He was not controlled by the Spirit of God but he was using his talent, skills, gift to praise and worship God and the Bible continues to say “with all his might” that means the was no other way he might use to dance before the Lord. So according to the old covenant we dance before the Lord not in the Lord and we dance with all our might, but according to the new covenant we dance in the lord not before the lord and we are lead by the Spirit of God not with all our might. Zechariah once prophesied about the new covenant when he said “Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit” Zechariah 4:4

The Bible continues in John 4: 23 to say “for the Father seeks such as His worshippers” in other words God is seeking worshippers who will worship Him being controlled by the Spirit of God, people who will dance in the lord, that means the Holy Spirit is the one who is leading them to dance not focussing on other people, looking how they dance and imitate them, that’s not it.
As the Church of God we should reach to a point where we die and Holy Spirit live in us
NB: we should be lead by the Spirit of God in everything.
God is seeking such to worship Him.

Old Vs New Covenant

October 27, 2009

The old covenant is the covenant that God made with His people, Children of Israel.
That covenant was comprised of the law which God gave to His people through His servant Moses.
The law was the only thing to guide them into pleasing God.
The law was only dealing with physical issues; it had physical promises that were attained by physical efforts (by the means of the flesh).
The law was given based or founded on the curse that was declared by God to Adam that the land shall be cursed because of him and he shall struggle in order for him to get something, then also the law was built upon that because it was requiring a person to work hard to get something from God.
But what I like about it, it’s the fact that it was pointing to a finished work (Christ crucified), with its sacrifices it was pointing to a wonderful offering offered in the hill of Golgotha 2000 years ago.
The Bible states clearly in Heb 10: 1, that the law having a shadow of things to come, not the real image of the things, it could not make a person perfect.
The sacrifices offered in the old covenant could not remove sin instead they could just cover it, God could not see the sin but He could only see the blood of the bull, or Lamb, goats; but not because sin was no more, and that was temporal because they would have to do the same thing after some time.

The New covenant is the covenant that Jesus made with us through His blood, which was shed on Calvary for me and you.
This covenant is comprised of the Holy Spirit, who is working by the means of our faith in the power of God (Christ crucified), or finished work of Christ.
The Holy Spirit is the one who is guiding us into all truth, John 16:13, this time people are not guided by the law but by Holy Spirit, who is God Himself because He is in the trinity of God.
The new covenant came about after the Death of Jesus, when Jesus was fulfilling the law, rearranging things removing the curse of the law (that curse the law was built upon, the curse of struggling) by becoming a curse for us.
The new covenant introduced something new called grace, which does not require your physical effort, strength but it simply requires our faith in the power of God (Christ crucified), and by doing that we automatically allowing the Spirit of God to have a full control over our lives.
The new covenant brings perfection, Heb 10:14.

The problem of the church of God in these days is the fact that Christians are living in the new covenant with the things of the old covenant, that’s why the Spirit of God does not have a full control over our lives because we are squeezing Him with the law. The Bible says that Jesus put aside the first covenant to establish the second one, therefore we can never make both covenants to be alive, one must die and the other must live.

My Introduction.

September 30, 2009

i am Njongo Cokoto, born in Eastern Cape. I am saved washed by the blood of Jesus. I serve in the Church called Back to Reality under Pastor Mokoena. I am a preacher of the Cross of Christ, which i believe it is the message that God want me to preach for such a time like this, a time when the enemy make sure that he is attacking the church of God by removing the real Gospel and replace it by putting messages which are full of deception, compromise, and which accomodates sin. I believe that this is the time when we as preachers all over the world should stand for the truth and preach Christ crucified.

the Rugged Cross.

September 30, 2009

On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross,
The emblem of suffering and shame;
And I love that old cross where the dearest and best
For a world of lost sinners was slain.
O that old rugged cross, so despised by the world,
Has a wondrous attraction for me;
For the dear Lamb of God left His glory above
To bear it to dark Calvary.
It was there on that rugged cross that Christ atoned for our sins, In that old rugged cross, stained with blood so divine,
A wondrous beauty I see,
For ’twas on that old cross Jesus suffered and died,
To pardon and sanctify me.
To the old rugged cross I will ever be true;
Its shame and reproach gladly bear;
Then He’ll call me some day to my home far away,
Where His glory forever I’ll share.
So I’ll cherish the old rugged cross,
Till my trophies at last I lay down;
I will cling to the old rugged cross,
And exchange it some day for a crown.

The Message of the cross is the only message that can deliver people from frustration that may be sometimes caused by pastors, and others who claim to preach the word of God. This message set us free from the law. it also restores us back to our place.

The love of money

September 14, 2009

Give me your ears people of God,
Give me your ears people whom God chosen
And let me tell you about the cause of all kinds of evil,
About the cause of destruction,
The love of money

I am talking about the root of all kinds of evil,
Which some have strayed from the faith,
Which we see all kinds of destruction in our land.

I am talking about the problem which has even entered into the house of God,
The problem that have made most of the preachers of these days to compromise,

The issue that became a core gospel today,
The issue that we are always taught about behind the pulpit,
The issue that has already replaced the word of God,
God desires all men to be saved,
And come to the knowledge of the truth,
But this problem made preachers to look down upon that.

These days preachers are hired by big money to preach,
The gospel has turned to be a business,
The gospel has been turned to manipulate people,

The Church of God should be aware of this,
The church should be aware of the fact that indeed Jesus is coming back.

The Lamb of God

September 13, 2009

There is a Lamb of God,
The only Lamb which was slain 2000 years ago,
The Lamb that John one day proclaimed about,
Saying Behold the Lamb of God,
Who takes away the sin of the world.

This Lamb I am talking about is Jesus
Who knew not sin but made Himself to be sin for us,
That we might become God’s righteousness in Him.

I am talking about the Man Jesus, who became a Lamb,
And decided to sacrifice His life for us to be saved,
The man who died so that we may live,
The man who humbled Himself so that we may be the heads not the tails, The Man who became poor so that we may be rich.

I am talking about the Lamb of God,
Who became a curse so that we may be blessed,
The Man who conquered death so that we may have dominion over death.

The Man I am talking about left His kingship, His praises,
And came here on earth and became a Lamb for us to be free,
Therefore we ought to have this in mind always.
