Old Vs New Covenant

The old covenant is the covenant that God made with His people, Children of Israel.
That covenant was comprised of the law which God gave to His people through His servant Moses.
The law was the only thing to guide them into pleasing God.
The law was only dealing with physical issues; it had physical promises that were attained by physical efforts (by the means of the flesh).
The law was given based or founded on the curse that was declared by God to Adam that the land shall be cursed because of him and he shall struggle in order for him to get something, then also the law was built upon that because it was requiring a person to work hard to get something from God.
But what I like about it, it’s the fact that it was pointing to a finished work (Christ crucified), with its sacrifices it was pointing to a wonderful offering offered in the hill of Golgotha 2000 years ago.
The Bible states clearly in Heb 10: 1, that the law having a shadow of things to come, not the real image of the things, it could not make a person perfect.
The sacrifices offered in the old covenant could not remove sin instead they could just cover it, God could not see the sin but He could only see the blood of the bull, or Lamb, goats; but not because sin was no more, and that was temporal because they would have to do the same thing after some time.

The New covenant is the covenant that Jesus made with us through His blood, which was shed on Calvary for me and you.
This covenant is comprised of the Holy Spirit, who is working by the means of our faith in the power of God (Christ crucified), or finished work of Christ.
The Holy Spirit is the one who is guiding us into all truth, John 16:13, this time people are not guided by the law but by Holy Spirit, who is God Himself because He is in the trinity of God.
The new covenant came about after the Death of Jesus, when Jesus was fulfilling the law, rearranging things removing the curse of the law (that curse the law was built upon, the curse of struggling) by becoming a curse for us.
The new covenant introduced something new called grace, which does not require your physical effort, strength but it simply requires our faith in the power of God (Christ crucified), and by doing that we automatically allowing the Spirit of God to have a full control over our lives.
The new covenant brings perfection, Heb 10:14.

The problem of the church of God in these days is the fact that Christians are living in the new covenant with the things of the old covenant, that’s why the Spirit of God does not have a full control over our lives because we are squeezing Him with the law. The Bible says that Jesus put aside the first covenant to establish the second one, therefore we can never make both covenants to be alive, one must die and the other must live.
